You’ll be the licensed Shift Supervisor overseeing safe, efficient operation of a steam plant that turns waste into usable energy and value.

This is hands-on, high-responsibility work at the heart of a heavy industrial power operation.

You’ll monitor fuel processing, operate boilers and turbines, and make the real-time decisions that protect people, equipment, and environmental performance.

And you won’t be stuck in place—this role is a direct path into Operations Manager, Facilities Manager, Maintenance Manager, or Mechanical Supervisor positions.

What You’ll Work On

• Fuel processing systems feeding the boilers
• High-pressure boilers and combustion systems

What You’ll Be Doing

• Monitoring the fuel processing system throughout your shift
• Operating boilers, turbines, and related steam plant equipment
• Ensuring strict compliance with safety standards and environmental permits
• Enforcing and following established operational procedures
• Approving equipment removal from service for maintenance activities
• Issuing safety permits and overseeing clearance processes
• Leading, training, and developing shift personnel
• Troubleshooting operational issues in real time
• Coordinating with maintenance to minimize downtime
• Responding to emergencies and directing safe, effective actions
• Maintaining all required state and site licenses and certifications
• Participating in projects to improve plant performance and efficiency

What We’re Looking For

• Massachusetts Second Level Engineer’s License (required)
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or engineering experience in heavy industrial, power generation, or resource recovery
• Hands-on experience with high-pressure boilers, steam turbines, and electric generating equipment
• Familiarity with steam plant instrumentation and control systems
• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred
• Ability to work rotating shifts
• Ability to climb, lift up to 50 lbs, and work at heights and in confined spaces
• Ability to wear full-face respirators and work in varied weather conditions
• Commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement

Important Requirements

• Must hold a valid Massachusetts Second Level Engineer’s License.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts.
• Must be able to climb, lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varied weather conditions, and wear a full-face respirator.
