Job summary

Goodwill of Colorado seeks versatile candidates to become Shift Supervisors in our Retail Center. This full‑time role leads associates across the center and requires open availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Key duties include supervising operations, ensuring safety and customer focus, handling inventory, opening/closing procedures, and coaching staff. Training on pallet jack and forklifts is anticipated.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Two years of retail experience desired.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiar with Word, Excel, Outlook and UKG application.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store operations to ensure safety, customer focus, product flow and aesthetics either personally or through delegation.
• Manages breaks, redirects staff to address call-offs, coaches employees and participates in reviews.
• Open/close procedures and verify daily sales reports; count drawers and manage inventory counts.
• Plan, coordinate and control customer service activities to maintain relationships and meet objectives.
• Cross-train to cover emergencies and operate required equipment.

Pay: $20.32 per hour. This full‑time supervisory position requires open availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Store hours are 9 am–9 pm Monday through Saturday and 9 am–8 pm on Sunday. Shifts may start as early as 7 am and go as late as 10 pm.

Job Title: 514 – Retail Center Shift Supervisor

Job Summary

The Retail Center Shift Supervisor is responsible for day‑to‑day, tactical, and practical leadership of associates and teams across the entire retail center.

Essential Functions

• Generally responsible for monitoring the retail center and addressing immediate issues of safety, customer focus, product flow, and aesthetics either personally or through delegation.

Employee Leadership

• Manages breaks.
• Redirects staff/work teams to address call‑offs.
• Coaches employees verbally and with initial write‑ups.
• Provides input to reviews and terminations.
• Facilitates employee purchases.

Task/Functional Leadership

• Assists in opening and closing procedures.
• Verifies daily sales report paperwork.
• Counts drawers.
• Creates change between drawers and the safe.
• Assists with inventory process by counting, entering, and verifying.

Customer Focus

• Plans, coordinates, and controls the activities of the customer service team to maintain and enhance customer relationships while meeting organizational and operational objectives.
• First escalation point for customer complaints.
• Point of contact for turning down donations at Attended Donation Centers (ADC).

Cross Training

• Maintains knowledge of store procedures at a generalist proficiency level, allowing coverage in emergencies.
• Ensures e‑commerce product is processed accurately and moved to e‑commerce efficiently.
• Becomes certified on pallet jack, walkie‑stacker, forklift, hand dolly, or other equipment or tools to effectively move and store donated product.
• Maintains knowledge such that operations can be sustained in rare cases where no Assistant Manager or Manager is on premises.
• Job duties may extend beyond the tasks listed and may include additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Two (2) years of retail experience desired.

Other

• Familiar with product pricing, trends, fashions, and seasonal changes.
• Communicates effectively both verbally and electronically with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Obtains certification in all employee positions through completion of On the Job (OJT) documentation.
• Obtains walkie‑stacker and/or forklift certification to safely operate equipment.
• Quickly problem solves and makes decisions.
• Maintains confidentiality and follows Goodwill policies and procedures.
• Proficient in the use of office equipment, office software (e.g., Word, Excel) and web‑based applications (e.g., UKG). Manages corporate email and calendar (e.g., Outlook).
• Withstands prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 8 hours per day.
• Works a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as needed.
