Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT is hiring immediately for full and part-time SHIFT SUPERVISOR positions. Open PM shifts with days varying by business needs.

Direct the activities of associates on a shift, provide training, and ensure policy and procedures are followed. Prior supervision in catering is preferred; strong communication, training, customer service and food service skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Direct the activities of associates during a specific shift and ensure job expectations are met with policy compliance.
• Provide training and create work schedules for staff.
• Evaluate worker performance, reward high performers, and address underperformance.
• Prepare production or sales reports and monitor quality, productivity, and safety.
• Serve as the contact for employee requests and time-off discussions.
• Mentor employees and encourage career advancement within the organization.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned.

Job description

We are hiring immediately for full and part-time SHIFT SUPERVISOR positions.

Schedule: Open availability for PM shifts is required, with days varying based on business needs. More details are available upon interview.

Requirement: Previous experience supervising and coordinating catering staff is preferred. Strong communication, training, customer service, and food service skills are essential.

Fixed Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Direct the activities of associates during a specific shift and oversee that assigned job expectations are completed while policy and procedure is maintained.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing training and creating work schedules.
• Evaluating the performance of workers, rewarding high performers and disciplining employees who fail to meet reasonable standards of work performance.
• Prepare production or sales reports for management and ensure the unit meets expectations for quality, productivity and safety.
• Act as the contact person for employees with complaints or requests for time off.
• Act as a mentor, develop employees and encourage workers to set goals and strive for advancement within the organization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
