Job summary

Goodwill of Colorado seeks a versatile Shift Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations across the retail center. The role requires open availability, including evenings and weekends, with shifts possibly starting at 7 am and ending as late as 10 pm.

Daily Pay benefits are available and benefits are offered for full-time staff. The position focuses on safety, customer service, and efficient product flow, while preparing employees for career growth within Goodwill's Retail Division.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• Two (2) years’ retail experience is desired.
• Able to obtain certification in all employee positions through On the Job (OJT) documentation.
• Able to obtain walkie stacker and/or forklift certification to safely operate equipment.
• Able to work a varied schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• General leadership of the retail center, focusing on safety, customer focus, product flow, and aesthetics either personally or through delegation.
• Manage breaks; redirect staff to address call-offs; coach employees; participate in reviews and terminations; facilitate employee purchases.
• Assist in opening/closing procedures; verify daily sales report paperwork; count drawers; make change between drawers and the safe; assist with inventory processes.
• Plan, coordinate, and control customer service activities to maintain strong customer relationships and meet objectives; act as first escalation for complaints; handle donations at ADCs.
• Maintain store procedures knowledge; ensure E-Commerce processing is accurate and moving; operate pallet jack, walkie stacker, forklift as needed; cover essential duties in absence of managers.

Please Note: This supervisory position is full-time and will require open availability (including evenings and weekends). Our Stores are open 9 am to 9 pm Monday through Saturday and 9 am to 8 pm Sunday. Shifts for this position could start as early as 7 am and go as late as 10 pm.

Previous supervisory experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, production, manufacturing or similar industries is preferred for this position. Job Summary

The Retail Center Shift Supervisor will be responsible for day-to-day, tactical, and practical leadership of associates and teams across the entire retail center.

Essential Functions

• Generally responsible for monitoring the whole retail center and addressing immediate issues of safety, customer focus, product flow, and aesthetics either personally or through delegation.

Employee Leadership

• Manages breaks.
• Redirects staff/work teams to address call-offs.
• Coaches’ employees verbally and with initial write-ups.
• Provides input to reviews and terminations.
• Facilitate employee purchases.

Task/Functional Leadership

• Assists in opening and closing procedures
• Responsible for the verification step related to the daily sales report paperwork.
• Responsible for counting drawers.
• Responsible for making change between drawers and the safe.
• Assist with inventory process by counting, entering, and verifying.

Customer Focus

• Plan, coordinate, and control the activities of the customer service team to maintain and enhance customer relationships, meet organizational, and operational objectives.
• First escalation point for customer complaints.
• Point of contact for turning down donations at Attended Donation Centers (ADC).

Cross Training

• Maintains knowledge of store procedures at the proficiency of a generalist with the ability to fill in for an emergency.
• Ensure E-Commerce product is processed accurately and moving to E-Commerce efficiently.
• Uses and becomes certified on pallet jack, walkie stacker, forklift, hand dolly, or other equipment or tools to effectively move and store donated product.
• Maintains knowledge to the level where operations can be maintained in rare cases where no Assistant Manager or Manager are able to be on premises.
• Job duties may extend beyond the tasks listed and may include additional responsibilities as required.

Education

• Able to quickly problem solve and make decisions.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and follow Goodwill’s policies and procedures.
• Proficient in the utilization of office equipment, office software (i.e. Word, Excel) and web-based applications (i.e. UKG) to meet the needs of employees and the organization.
• Ability to manage corporate email and calendar (i.e. Outlook).
• Able to withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting up to 8 hours per day.
• Able to work a varied schedule to include weekends, evenings, and holidays with occasional overtime as necessary.
