Qualifications

• Eligibility to meet Youth Tech position criteria.
• Minimum 2 years college with 15 credits in behavioral sciences.
• Two years of full-time experience with children or equivalent.
• TB test, drug test, background check, immunizations required.
• Must complete restraint certification.
• Sound judgment, emotional steadiness, teamwork, safety commitment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Youth Tech activities during shift and visit all facilities.
• Train and support staff, stepping in to perform Youth Tech duties when needed.
• Coordinate care, cleaning, feeding, transportation and day-to-day activities.
• Oversee cleanliness, safety, security, supplies, clothing, toiletries and linens.
• Maintain shift logs and incident reports; answer phones when needed.
• Recognize emergencies, take action, and summon help when necessary.
• Partner with local law enforcement and community agencies during shift.
• Foster safety and security for children and staff.
• Identify hazards; participate in cleaning and maintenance.
• Serve as shift interventionist and restrain when required.
• Administer prescription medications as instructed and maintain drug accountability.
• Participate in rotating monthly on-call schedule.

Education

Two years of college with 15 credits in behavioral sciences

Two years of full-time experience with children

Direct Care Staff Member qualification (DCSM) eligibility

Ability to complete restraint certification

Sound judgment, emotional steadiness, teamwork
