Job summary

MGS Manufacturing is seeking a Shift Supervisor Assistant to support the Richfield manufacturing team. The role operates on a 12-hour day or night shift in a 2-2-3 rotation, with initial training on a standard 8-hour day shift before transitioning to the 12-hour schedule.

You will supervise to optimize safety, quality, and efficiency, schedule operators, monitor adherence to the QMS, mentor staff, and partner with HR on performance matters.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; further technical education preferred.
• 1-3 years related experience or on-the-job training.
• Manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, IQMS.
• Demonstrated people management experience is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedules Operators to specific jobs and packing areas based on production schedule.
• Monitors shift for adherence to safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
• Mentors and develops direct labor positions; supports onboarding.
• Trains direct labor team and completes required training.
• Lead pre-shift huddles and participate where needed.
• Use IQMS and modules to monitor production processes.
• Assist with training, coaching, and operational improvement actions.
• Investigate root causes of non-conforming parts and develop corrective actions.
