Job Title: Shift Supervisor
Reports to: Production Manager
Location: Seattle, WA
Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Schedule: Friday - Sunday; 6am - 6pm
Responsibilities
- Safety conscious and always looking for preventative safety measures
- Understands the Valence Surface Technologies Code of Conduct policy, and leads by example; organizes assigned area to ensure ready access to and knowledge of all orders currently in process on a daily basis
- Effectively communicates with customer service regarding work that is in the area or coming to the area for processing
- Maintains the shop in an orderly 5S and well-kept manner
- Operates within established safety, quality, and financial guidelines
- Keeps current on project and overall shop performance, understands and monitors department budget; works with manager to resolve problems and plan improvements
- Works closely with Production Management and supervisors on other shifts to determine daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules
- Maintains schedule and reassigns labor as workload changes
- Understands daily output to keep the work moving through the production process
- Executes schedule with urgency and a commitment to safety, quality, timeliness, and cost consciousness
- Maintains and monitors appropriate documentation on all orders
- Supervises employees in the shop, organizes work, assigns tasks, follows dashboard requirements, and collaborates with customer service to exceed customer expectations
- Communicates with employees regularly and seeks their input on problem solving
- Clarifies responsibility and expected results
- Delegates responsibility where appropriate; provides direction, coaching on performance issues, and training as needed
- Discusses disciplinary actions with department supervisors per established procedures; works with supervisors or HR to resolve problems as needed
- Partner with department supervisors to train employees and monitor their performance on safety procedures and proper production techniques; ensures safe lifting and maneuvering of materials
- Resolves technical problems by involving appropriate people to keep production moving and meet/exceed customer expectations
- Participates in improvement teams, Gemba walks, and meetings as requested; contributes to continuous process improvement to reduce cost, streamline processes, and increase throughput

- Education: High School Graduate or GED Required
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in manufacturing
- Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office

- Compensation Range: $21.30 to $30.00 per hour (DOE) + shift differential for 2nd, 3rd, 4th and weekend shifts

Work Environment
Temperatures in the work environment can fluctuate with outside weather conditions. Due to the manufacturing environment, Personal Protection Equipment may be required including safety glasses, goggles, aprons, rubber boots, gloves, and a respirator (provided by the Company).
