Job summary

Sonoco is hiring a Production Worker in Tulsa, OK. The role involves assisting on the production floor, learning to set up new jobs, and supporting multiple departments to keep lines running smoothly. Entry level with opportunities to advance to Finishing Operator I.

Overtime is required as needed. The position starts with second or third shift options and includes pay differentials for those shifts. We value teamwork, safety, and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• You have at least 1 year in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
• You can lift up to 50 lbs.
• Forklift Certification and safe operation experience.
• Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
• Reliable, proactive, and quality-focused.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with multiple departments and help troubleshoot production issues.
• Set up new jobs and train on lines and other departments as needed.
• Monitor and report on product quality; adjust processes as required.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Support adherence to Sonoco quality and safety policies.

Job description

Position: Production Worker

Location: Tulsa, OK

Pay: $20.40/hr (shift differentials -2nd Shift - 50¢ 3rd Shift - 75¢)

Shifts available: 2nd shift hours are 3 pm to 11 pm M-F or 3rd shift hours are 11 pm to 7 am M-F (Begins Sunday night at 11 pm)

Note: These are entry level positions that will progress to Finishing Operator I

What you'll be doing:

• Collaborating closely with other departments and teams
• Having the ability to think on your feet and troubleshoot problems and situations
• Making incremental process adjustments, monitor and report quality of manufactured product
• Learn to set up new jobs, train on other lines and in other departments
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area
• Performing all duties as designated by supervisor/manager
• Performing all duties in support of Sonoco's quality and safety policies
• Helping out other departments as needed
• Downtime is cleaning and straightening time

• You are Sonoco mission driven.
• You have at least 1 year in a manufacturing/warehouse environment.
• You have to have a "get it done" attitude and an urgency to resolve problems/tasks.
• You can easily lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
• You have previously held a Forklift Certification and safely operate a forklift.
• Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed.
• You need to have working knowledge of our products and their quality requirements.
• Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being quality focused is a must.
• Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success.
• You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
• You will need to able to perform repetitive duties, including going up and down stairs and standing for long periods of time.
• You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
