Job summary

HireArt is assisting a client in Los Angeles, CA to hire a Shift Supervisor to lead a team of Vehicle Operators (VOs) and ensure alignment with short- and long-term operational goals. The position is full-time, onsite in Los Angeles, with Wednesday-Sunday shifts 3:45 PM–12:15 AM.

You will coach, mentor, and evaluate performance while maintaining safety and efficiency standards. Ideal candidates have 2+ years AV operator experience, a valid AVT permit, and a collaborative mindset; a strong safety

Qualifications

Expected compensation: 41.00 USD Per Hour

HireArt is helping our client find Shift Supervisors to lead a team of Vehicle Operators (VOs), ensuring they understand and execute both short- and long-term operational goals.

Available Shift

Wednesday-Sunday, 3:45 PM-12:15 AM

As Shift Supervisor, You'll

• Foster a safety-first, inclusive, and open communication culture.
• Support vehicle operators in daily operations and ensure adherence to procedures and standards.
• Complete administrative tasks related to team coordination, scheduling, and shift validation.
• Provide regular written and verbal performance feedback to direct reports.
• Develop subject matter expertise in proprietary vehicle operations software and systems.
• Motivate, mentor, and guide team members to meet performance and safety expectations.
• Serve as a point of contact for contractors, ensuring clarity of responsibilities and execution of assigned tasks.
• Support operational missions in a variety of roles, both in and out of vehicles.
• Act as a player-coach by working alongside the team and leading by example.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Requirements

• 2+ years of autonomous vehicle operator experience and an active AVT permit
• Experience working in a highly collaborative environment with a strong teamwork mindset
• Proven ability to problem-solve and improve operational efficiency
• Proactive, resourceful, and adaptable approach to challenges
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts
• Excellent driving record
• This role will require safety boots that conform to ASTM F2412 / F2413 requirements

Preferred Skills

• 2+ years of experience in autonomous vehicle operations, fleet operations, or similar large-scale operational environments
• Experience as an instructor, team lead, or supervisor within an operations team, or equivalent leadership experience
• Experience leading or managing cross-functional teams

This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the Los Angeles, CA area.
