HireArt, Inc. is seeking a Shift Supervisor to lead a team of Vehicle Operators in Houston, TX. This is a full-time, in-person, contract position with hour-based compensation.

The successful candidate will ensure safety and operational excellence, mentor staff, and coordinate scheduling and shift validation while working closely with fleet leadership.

Qualifications

• Valid in-state driver’s license for 3+ years with no gaps.
• Clean driving record with no major disqualifications in 10 years.
• Experience in collaborative, team-based environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly, safety-focused.

Responsibilities

• Foster a safety-first culture and open communication.
• Support vehicle operators in daily operations and ensure adherence to procedures.
• Complete administrative tasks related to team coordination, scheduling and shift validation.
• Provide regular written and verbal performance feedback to direct reports.
• Develop subject matter expertise in proprietary vehicle operations software and systems.
• Motivate, mentor, and guide team members to meet performance and safety expectations.
• Serve as a point of contact for contractors and clarify responsibilities.
• Support operational missions in various roles, both in and out of vehicles.
• Act as a player-coach by leading by example and working with the team.

HireArt is helping our client find Shift Supervisors to lead a team of Vehicle Operators (VOs), ensuring they understand and execute both short- and long-term operational goals.

In this role, you’ll be a hands‑on leader, working alongside your team daily to ensure all software and hardware tests are executed to high standards. You will collaborate closely with other leaders within fleet operations to safely and efficiently drive day‑to‑day vehicle fleet operations.

The ideal candidate is a disciplined team player with a strong sense of ownership and a commitment to safety, operational excellence, and team development.

Available Shifts:

• Tuesday-Saturday: 6:45 AM-3:15 PM
• Sunday-Thursday: 6:45 AM-3:15 PM
• Friday-Tuesday: 6:45 AM-3:15 PM

PM Shifts

• Tuesday-Saturday: 3:45 PM-12:15 AM
• Sunday-Thursday: 3:45 PM-12:15 AM
• Friday-Tuesday: 3:45 PM-12:15 AM

Requirements

• Must meet all requirements, including possessing and maintaining a valid in-state U.S. driver’s license for the past 3+ consecutive years with no gaps
• Must have a clean driving record with no disqualifying driving history within the past 10 years, including:
  • DUI or DWI
  • Driving-related license suspension
  • Serious at-fault accident resulting in injury or death
  • Two or more moving violations
• Experience working in a highly collaborative environment with a strong teamwork mindset
• Proven ability to problem-solve and improve operational efficiency
• Proactive, resourceful, and adaptable approach to challenges
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts
• This role will require safety boots that conform to ASTM F2412 / F2413 requirements

Preferred Skills

• 2+ years of experience in autonomous vehicle operations, fleet operations, or similar large-scale operational environments
• Experience as an instructor, team lead, or supervisor within an operations team, or equivalent leadership experience
• Experience leading or managing cross-functional teams
