Job summary

Enviva seeks a Shift Supervisor to lead daily plant operations, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity. You will assign tasks, monitor output and address issues on the production floor while maintaining equipment safety and care, and deliver regular progress reports.

You will drive performance through people management, documentation, and effective communication, coordinating with the Production Manager to meet production targets and cost controls on-site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years industrial/manufacturing experience, wood products background.
• Proficient in basic computer knowledge.
• Self-motivated with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Team player; prior management experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day plant operations to meet safety, quality, production and cost KPIs.

• Ensure a safe working environment and enforce housekeeping standards.
• Provide direction to team regarding duties and goals.
• Complete paperwork and status reporting accurately and timely.

The Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the shift to ensure efficient and safe operations. This role involves assigning tasks, monitoring productivity, and maintaining high-quality output. The supervisor also addresses any issues on the production floor, ensures equipment is safely used and well-maintained and provides regular reports on production progress.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the plant delivering key performance indicators (safety, quality, production and cost).
• Maintain documentation on employee performance and accountability to drive performance.
• Ensure a safe working environment is established and maintained.
• Enforce good housekeeping standards.
• Provide direction to team regarding duties and goals.
• Ensure paperwork & status reporting are completed timely and accurately
• Ensure daily and consistent communications and shift meetings.
• Perform work assigned by Production Manager to ensure successful operation.
• Maintain documentation on employee performance and accountability to drive performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years industrial/manufacturing experience/wood products background.
• Must be proficient in basic computer knowledge.
• Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications - What Will Set You Apart

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Associate degree or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to work in outdoor environments and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees
• Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
• Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, to include wearing safety equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and overnight to address unexpected site issues.
• Climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces on an occasional basis up to 100 ft
• Must be able to push, pull and lift items up to 50 lbs
• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
