Job summary

Cirkla Inc. is seeking a Shift Supervisor to run end-to-end production on shift at our new US molded fiber lamination facility. You will own everything on the floor during your hours – the crew, the line, the output, the quality and the safety of the people on it.

You will lead line operators, quality checkers and material handlers, ensuring adherence to GMP, driving changeovers, monitoring quality and implementing quick, efficient problem-solving on the floor.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years in manufacturing production.
• 2+ years directly supervising a crew on a shift.
• Experience leading a crew of 10+ hourly employees.
• Comfortable in a food-contact environment with GMP discipline and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Run the shift: manage output against daily plan, staff, and handover a clean shift.
• Directly supervise line operators, quality checkers and material handlers; train and coach.
• Monitor lamination quality, film tracking and tension; troubleshoot and log downtime.
• Plan and execute tooling and SKU changeovers; verify first-off samples.
• Enforce in-process checks, ensure seal integrity and GMP standards.
• Own scrap, film yield and waste; act on losses.
• Enforce safety measures, conduct shift talks, stop work when needed.
• Record production and material consumption in the ERP; contribute to daily meetings.

Cirkla develops and manufactures high performance fiber packaging solutions to help global brands reduce plastic in their packaging. We've built a variety of industry-first packaging solutions such as trays for meat, produce and ready meals, dairy tubs, scoops, and more.

Role Overview

Cirkla is seeking a Shift Supervisor to run end-to-end production on shift at our new US molded fiber lamination facility. You will own everything that happens on the floor during your hours - the crew, the line, the output, the quality and the safety of the people on it. This is a fully accountable floor leadership role, not a coordination role: you set the pace of the shift, you make the call when the line is not running right, and you hand over a plant in better condition than you found it.

What You’ll Do

• Run the shift: Own production output against the daily schedule - manning the line, sequencing jobs, managing breaks and coverage, and making real-time calls on where to push and where to stop. Deliver a clean, documented handover to the incoming supervisor every shift.
• Lead the crew: Directly supervise line operators, quality checkers and material handlers. Assign work to skill level, train and cross-train against the skills matrix, coach performance day to day, and elevate the issues that need the Plant Manager.
• Own the line: Monitor lamination quality, film tracking and tension, trimming and stacking, and intervene early when the process drifts. Perform first-line troubleshooting and minor adjustments, call maintenance when it is beyond that, and log downtime accurately with real reasons rather than generic codes.
• Changeovers and setup: Plan and execute tooling and SKU changeovers with the crew, and drive changeover time down as a tracked number. Verify first-off samples before releasing the run.
• Quality and food safety: Enforce in-process checks - seal integrity, lamination adhesion, dimensional and visual standards - and hold or quarantine non-conforming material rather than passing the decision downstream. Maintain GMP and housekeeping standards on the floor at audit level, every shift, not just before an audit.
• Yield and waste: Own scrap, film yield and first-pass yield on your shift. Understand where the losses are coming from and act on them rather than reporting them.
• Safety: Enforce LOTO, machine guarding, PPE and safe work practices with no exceptions. Conduct shift safety talks, respond to and report incidents and near misses immediately, and stop work when conditions require it.
• Reporting and systems: Record production, material consumption and scrap accurately in the ERP. Report shift performance against targets and contribute to daily production meetings and continuous improvement work.

Who You Are

• 4-6 years in manufacturing production, including at least 2 years directly supervising a crew on a shift
• Hands-on and technical. You can stand at the line, watch it run, and tell them that something is wrong before the quality check does.
• Proven at running a crew of 10 or more hourly employees, including managing attendance, performance and the day-to-day friction that comes with it
• Comfortable in a food-contact environment with GMP discipline and the documentation that goes with it
• Willing to work nights, weekends and overtime as the plant ramps, and to move between shifts if the schedule requires it
• Bilingual English and Spanish, OSHA 30, lean or 5S exposure, and startup or new-line commissioning experience are all preferred
