• Maintain accurate accounting and fuel transactions and monitor compliance with safety policies.
• Mentor subordinates and enforce disciplinary procedures when needed.

Role Purpose

As a Menzies Aviation Shift Supervisor you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all Aircraft Fuelers in the Fueling Operations. Other responsibilities include issuing written and verbal instructions while ensuring adherence to safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Review data on incoming flights such as scheduled or estimated times of arrival or departure destinations and down‑line station stops in order to plan work activities.
• Direct and coordinate all operations functions and ensure workers and equipment are available for fueling and defueling services.
• Supervise Aircraft Fueling Operations to ensure Fuelers are performing their duties in a professional, safe and efficient manner according to Company/Carrier’s standards.
• Ensure the effective operation of fueling.
• Prepare and submit reports as required such as staffing updates, shift reports, delay reports and equipment status reports.
• Maintain accurate accounting and fuel transactions.
• Recommend manpower requirements.
• Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
• Act as a mentor to other employees.
• Assist subordinates in performing duties.
• Ensure disciplinary procedures are conducted fairly, timely and consistently.

What We Are Looking For

• Prior Aircraft Fueling experience required.
• Prior management, supervisory or lead experience in the Aviation industry preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Possess and maintain a valid US driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Must pass pre‑employment drug screen and all pre‑employment testing.
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
• Comfortable lifting 70 lbs repetitively.
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions.
• Available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Pass FBI background and obtain US Customs Seal.
• Possess or maintain FAA required identification, seals or authorizations.
• Report any significant deficiency in our products, materials and documents.
• Suggest improvements to working practices, especially those relating to safety and security.
• Have high school diploma, GED or six months experience as a Lead Fueler.
• Open availability schedule.

Working Conditions

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, high voltages and high hydraulic/pneumatic pressures. Under the daily supervision of the Maintenance Manager with assistance from the Station Manager, performs periodic maintenance and inspections on filters, pumps, valves, tanks, pressure controls, metering and gauging equipment, company vehicles. Troubleshoots and repairs equipment such as pipeline issues, electrical equipment, motors, switch gear and lighting. Ensures that all work assigned is performed in a timely fashion with quality workmanship. Ensures that the product meets or exceeds quality standards set forth; ensures all work is completed on time, contributing to an efficient operation while projecting a professional image for MENZIES AVIATION.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit; use hands, fingers, tools or controls; reach with arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear. The individual must be able to open and close large valves on 16" product delivery pipelines quickly. Opening and closing these valves involves twisting and pulling motion and sometimes considerable physical exertion. Other tasks include digging and shoveling such as snow removal around equipment and office. Employee may also engage in debris removal which involves lifting, bending and stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 lbs.
