Job summary

Markent Personnel in Waterloo, Iowa, seeks a Production Supervisor to supervise the manufacturing team across 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts, reporting to the Operations Director and Production Manager. You will supervise staff, organize workflow, act as a quality inspector, support safety, and train team members while spending about half of your time in direct labor on the production floor.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• 3+ years of Supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and generate results through others.
• Ability to perform problem analysis and problem resolution at a functional level.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality and safety.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Strong customer orientation and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills with understanding of Microsoft products.

Responsibilities

• Complete production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; establishing priorities and monitoring schedules.
• Coach, counsel, and train employees; enforce policies and procedures.
• Maintain staff by orienting and training employees; develop personal growth opportunities.
• Monitor workflow; set processing variables; observe equipment; study methods; implement cost reductions.
• Spend 50% of time in direct labor on the production floor.
• Identify safety and health hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
• Act as quality inspector; maintain standards for service quality.
• Ensure direct and indirect materials are available for production needs.
• Provide production performance data and respond to requests.
