Job summary

The Production Supervisor in Waterloo, IA will oversee the manufacturing team, reporting to the Director of Operations. You will supervise staff, organize workflow, act as a quality inspector, and serve as safety coordinator for your area.

Core duties include scheduling, coaching, training, maintaining safety and quality, ensuring materials availability, and driving continuous improvement. Expect hands-on leadership with about 50% direct labor and a focus on productivity and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing.
• 3+ years of Supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and generate results through others.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must have strong customer orientation.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills with understanding of Microsoft products.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and assign personnel to complete production plan.
• Coach, counsel, and train employees; enforce policies and procedures.
• Maintain staff by orienting and training employees and developing growth opportunities.
• Monitor workflow, equipment, and processes; implement cost reductions and reporting systems.
• Spend 50% of time in direct labor.
• Identify and address safety and health concerns and hazards.
• Act as quality inspector for areas of responsibility.
• Ensure materials are available for production teams.
• Provide production performance records and data.
