Job summary

Westlake Chemical Corporation is seeking a shift supervisor for our chemical plant in Kentucky. You will supervise operators, lab technicians and maintenance staff, ensure adherence to SOPs and production schedules, and coordinate day and night orders to maintain shift continuity.

You will monitor safety and environmental compliance, conduct training, manage equipment care and repairs, and handle procurement for emergency projects.

Qualifications

• College graduate preferred with five years' progressive operating experience in a chemical plant.
• Knowledge of equipment care/handling, equipment applications, safety and environmental policies.
• Understanding procedural consequences and process relations.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates operators, lab technicians, and maintenance staff to meet SOPs and production schedules.
• Acts as supervisor for nights and weekends; coordinates day/night orders and instructions.
• Reviews operating problems with operators; coordinates maintenance and repairs to equipment.
• Maintains equipment/process records and monitors environmental compliance.
• Implements safety procedures and training with the Safety Department; conducts training to improve production.
• Coordinates feedstock, consumables, and procurement of parts for projects.
• Performs special projects to provide cost-effective operations.
