Job summary

Mennel Milling Company is hiring a Shift Miller at our Mt. Olive facility. The role operates and maintains the flour mill under the Head Miller, supporting safe, efficient production and top-quality flour.

You’ll rotate between day (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) and night (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) shifts every eight weeks, with 12-hour schedules and strong emphasis on safety and efficiency. Ideal candidates are mechanical, safety-conscious, and capable problem-solvers with a passion for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in flour milling, food production, or manufacturing preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to pass a respirator fit test and perform job duties while wearing a respirator.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of material flow and manufacturing processes.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the flour mill under the direction of the Head Miller while helping ensure safe, efficient production and exceptional product quality.
• Play a critical role in supporting daily milling operations and maintaining compliance with food safety and quality standards.
• Operate and manage flour mill and cleaning house activities during assigned shifts.
• Run milling equipment at optimal performance levels to maximize yields and product quality.
• Maintain wheat and flour inventories to required specifications.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed.
• Ensure compliance with GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, FSMA, sanitation requirements, and food safety standards.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and audit-ready work environment.
• Complete production reports and follow SOPs.
• Participate in required training and development programs.
• Serve as backup for Head Miller and/or Mill Operator when needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and equipment performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in flour milling, food production, or manufacturing preferred
