Job summary

The McDonald’s Certified Swing Manager oversees daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, balancing people, performance, and procedures to ensure safe food handling and a welcoming environment.

As operational leader on shift, you direct crew, monitor service speed and accuracy, enforce safety standards, manage labor, coach staff, and communicate with the General Manager to resolve guest concerns and uphold brand standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift team by directing crew members, assigning positions, and managing floor operations to deliver an exceptional customer experience across all channels, including drive-thru, front counter, kiosk, mobile order, and curbside.
• Monitor speed of service, order accuracy, food quality, and hospitality to ensure every guest receives fast, friendly, and accurate service.
• Enforce food safety procedures, proper handwashing, time and temperature controls, equipment maintenance, and cleanliness standards throughout the restaurant; conduct travel paths, ensure critical control points are followed, and take immediate corrective action when standards are not met.
• Manage labor deployment to support sales volume while controlling costs; monitor waste, complete product counts as required, and protect company assets by following cash-handling and security procedures.
• Train and coach crew members on procedures, service behaviors, and brand standards; provide real-time feedback, recognize strong performance, and address performance gaps constructively; help create a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and respect.
• Communicate effectively with the General Manager and other members of the leadership team regarding shift performance, staffing needs, equipment issues, and customer concerns; document incidents, resolve guest complaints professionally, and ensure follow-up when needed.
