Mars Petcare in Columbus, OH is seeking a Shift Manager to lead the Night shift operations and drive safety, quality, and cost improvements in a high-speed production facility.

The role requires 3+ years of direct people leadership and 5+ years in a CI manufacturing environment, with a high school diploma and proficiency in MS Office. Strong training skills and the ability to develop talent are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent education.
• 3+ years of direct people leadership experience.
• 5+ years working in a Continuous Improvement manufacturing environment.
• Ability to deploy training strategies and to directly train others.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint) and email.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 15-22 associates to efficiently convert materials into quality products ensuring safety, security, sanitation, and adherence to design specifications and budgets.
• Recommend and implement CI improvements in methods, equipment, systems, safety, product quality and the organization.
• Guide teams through Autonomous Maintenance (AM).
• People management including hiring, coaching, training and evaluating associate performance and create development plans aligned with career goals.
• Assist Production Leads in coordinating materials, staffing, and resources for efficient line operations and changeovers.
• Handle additional ad hoc tasks as needed.

What are we looking for?

• Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
• Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
• Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
