Steak ’n Shake is hiring a Shift Manager to lead daily restaurant operations at top market wages up to $22.25 per hour. The role includes training, coaching, and ensuring quality service and brand standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• US work authorization required.
• Experience in supervisory/restaurant management preferred.
• Proven reliability and professionalism in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong people skills with mentoring mindset.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable to changing needs.
• Ability to manage performance with fairness and empathy.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily restaurant operations with energy, confidence, and accountability.
• Ensure strong openings and closings by setting up the team for success.
• Set the tone for the shift—motivate and coach team members for success.
• Deliver fast, friendly, and accurate service that exceeds guest expectations.
• Ensure all brand standards are met — cleanliness, food safety, and quality.
• Handle opening and closing duties, including key-holder responsibilities.
• Count drawers, manage deposits, and finalize end-of-day reports.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and team members.
• Support training and onboarding of new team members.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented environment built on trust and respect.
• Step into any station as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
