Purpose:

The purpose of the Manager I (MGRI) position is to assist Branch management in executing QSR or similar restaurant management operations. The MGRI ensures the restaurant is clean, ready for business, staffed, and operates to high standards. The MGRI uses policies and procedures to make management decisions.

Essential Functions:

  1. Completes opening, daily, and closing procedures/checklists according to company policies.
  2. Assists the AGM/GM in managing by supervising daily activities of associates within a restaurant or points-of-sale.
  3. Participates in hiring, recommends termination, promotion, or other status changes to the GM.
  4. Assigns tasks, prepares schedules, and ensures shifts are covered.
  5. Ensures associates take mandated rest breaks and meal periods.
  6. Maintains display areas to be clean, stocked, and visually appealing.
  7. Ensures equipment is in good working order.
  8. Operates cash register, handles transactions, and maintains cash security following policies.
  9. Monitors compliance with wellness and safety procedures; reports concerns to the GM.
  10. Performs Health and Safety activities as per the Manager’s Guide.
  11. Places orders, receives goods, and processes invoices.
  12. Maintains current contact information for all restaurant associates.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work various shifts, including opening, busy periods, and closing.
  • Knowledge of sanitary, safety, and health standards, including HACCP protocols.

Reporting relationship and other information:

  • This position is Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
  • Typically reports to the General Manager, Director of Operations, or a Multi-Unit Manager.
  • Expected to work a rotating schedule across various days and hours.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment:

  • Minimum 2 years of food and beverage, cash handling, and customer service experience.
  • At least 6 months supervisory or lead experience in a restaurant or kitchen.
  • Ability to read, understand instructions, policies, and communicate effectively with customers.
