Purpose:

The Manager I (MGRI) position aims to assist branch management in executing QSR or similar restaurant operations. The MGRI ensures the restaurant is clean, operationally ready, staffed, and meets high standards. The role involves following policies and procedures to make management decisions.

Essential Functions:

  1. Completes opening, daily, and closing procedures/checklists according to company policies.
  2. Assists the AGM/GM by supervising daily activities of associates across one or more restaurant locations.
  3. Participates in hiring, provides input on employment decisions, and recommends promotions or terminations.
  4. Assigns tasks, prepares schedules, and ensures all shifts are staffed.
  5. Ensures all associates take mandated rest breaks and meal periods.
  6. Maintains cleanliness, stock levels, and visual appeal of display areas.
  7. Checks that all equipment functions properly.
  8. Operates cash register, processes transactions, and follows cash handling policies, maintaining security.
  9. Monitors and reports safety and wellness compliance, and promotes safety awareness.
  10. Performs health and safety activities as outlined in the Manager’s Guide.
  11. Places orders, receives goods, and processes invoices.
  12. Maintains current contact information for all associates.

Requirements:

  1. Ability to work flexible shifts, including opening, busy periods, and closing shifts.
  2. Knowledge of sanitary, safety, and health standards, including HACCP protocols.

Reporting and Schedule:

  • This role is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
  • Typically reports to the General Manager, Director of Operations, or a Multi-Unit Manager.
  • Requires a varied, rotating schedule across different days and hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in food and beverage, cash handling, and customer service.
  • At least 6 months supervisory or lead experience in a restaurant or kitchen.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in instructions, policies, and customer interactions.
