Steak ’n Shake is seeking a Shift Manager to lead daily restaurant operations in Indianapolis. You’ll drive openings/closings, coach staff, and ensure fast, friendly service while upholding brand standards.

Ideal candidates demonstrate reliability, servant leadership, and strong guest service. Flexible availability including nights and weekends is required, with near-term opportunities to grow within the restaurant management team.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily restaurant operations with energy, confidence, and accountability.
• Ensure strong openings and closings by setting up the team for success.
• Set the tone for the shift—motivate and coach team members for success.
• Deliver fast, friendly, and accurate service that exceeds guest expectations.
• Ensure all brand standards are met - cleanliness, food safety, and quality.
• Handle opening and closing duties, including key-holder responsibilities.
• Count drawers, manage deposits, and finalize end-of-day reports.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and team members.
• Support training and onboarding of new team members.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented environment built on trust and respect.
• Step into any station as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
