Job summary

Wegmans in Reston, VA is seeking an entry-level Seafood Department leader who wants to grow with a mission-driven, values-based retailer. You’ll supervise and educate a team, ensure the freshest fish selections, and help customers plan meals with confidence.

Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium to heavy. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, occasional heavy lifting, bending, and reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 5 – 20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 50 pounds rarely. Upper extremity repetition is moderate to moderately high and trunk movement involves moderate twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors with exposure to cold (33 – 55 degrees) temperatures and hot equipment (exceeds 135 degrees). Basic tools and equipment used include u-cart, hand/power jack, box cutter, knives, fryer, ice machine, and ice tables.; Collective customer service experience, internally and/or externally preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting; Experience ordering products and controlling inventory; Experience utilizing a variety of cooking techniques; Experience coordinating daily work of others; Experience cutting fish; Managerial/supervisory experience living our values and achieving results in our 5 measures
