Job summary

Steak ’n Shake Portage is seeking a Shift Manager to lead daily restaurant operations with energy, confidence, and accountability. You will set up strong openings and closings, motivate the team, and deliver fast, friendly, and accurate service that exceeds guest expectations.

The role requires supervision experience, a positive servant-leadership attitude, and a commitment to exceptional guest service in a fast-paced environment. EVerify is used to confirm U.S. employment eligibility.

Qualifications

• Supervisory or shift-lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure strong openings and closings by setting up the team for success.
• Set the tone for the shift—motivate and coach team members for success.

• Ensure all brand standards are met - cleanliness, food safety, and quality.
• Handle opening and closing duties, including key-holder responsibilities.
• Count drawers, manage deposits, and finalize end-of-day reports.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and team members.
• Support training and onboarding of new team members.
• Foster a positive, team-oriented environment built on trust and respect.
• Step into any station as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
