Job description

A Shift Manager works directly with crewmembers to effectively operate the restaurant during their shift. The Shift Manager ensures that restaurants are clean and well maintained, that all company procedures are followed, and that standards for food quality, cleanliness, sanitation, and customer service are met. The Shift Manager must also control costs related to cash handling, food products, labor, supplies, etc.

Responsibilities

Our Shift Managers are key to operating our restaurants daily. You will support the General Manager and Assistant Manager, ensuring smooth shift operations. You will also assist team members through performance and training initiatives. Your ability to provide exceptional customer service will encourage repeat business.

  1. Have at least six months of experience as a manager within a restaurant or retail environment.
  2. Be familiar with and demonstrate excellent customer service, upholding Company Core Values.
  3. Be humble and eager to learn what makes us different.
  4. Be proactive in helping your team and leading them to the next level.
  5. Execute daily systems to ensure compliance with all OSM procedures, providing an excellent guest experience and a safe work environment.
  6. Assist in running a shift effectively.
  7. Ensure daily sales and production goals are met, and work to increase sales and profits.
  8. Help train and onboard new employees.
  9. Handle customer and employee complaints professionally.
  10. Manage daily schedules and employee shifts.
  11. Assign duties and oversee employee progress.
  12. Count cash at shift end and manage bank deposits.
  13. Ensure industry rules and regulations are followed.
  14. Transfer products and other items to and from the worksite as needed.
  15. Maintain high service standards by leading by example.
  16. Communicate openly with team members, superiors, and others about plans, progress, and issues.
  17. Provide leadership that fosters excitement, enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and commitment to company goals.
Qualifications
  1. Minimum 6 months experience in the QSR industry.
  2. Ability to stand for up to 8 hours.
  3. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  4. Use motions involving pushing, pulling, stretching, and continuous use of fingers and wrists.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

The job involves using various machines, devices, and tools under conditions that require minimum qualifications to perform essential functions:

  1. Stand for up to 8 hours.
  2. Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  3. Use motions involving pushing, pulling, stretching, and continuous use of fingers and wrists.
  4. Carry products or boxes weighing up to 70 pounds.
  5. Occasionally climb ladders to check equipment.
  6. Operate registers, calculators, and other equipment.
  7. Handle product preparation and communicate with employees, customers, and suppliers.
  8. Use proper lifting procedures and kneel when necessary.
  9. Lift items for stocking, inventory, and product preparation.
  10. Open and close doors, coolers, and freezers regularly.
  11. Reach for products and training materials.
  12. See clearly during all activities.
  13. Stand frequently while serving customers and training.
  14. Stoops to pick up supplies and trash.
  15. Talk regularly with employees, customers, suppliers, and company representatives.
