Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Grand Rapids
Pay: $25-31+/hr
Shift: 2nd Shift 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm Monday - Friday; Overtime scheduled as needed
Job Summary
Workbox Staffing is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems to ensure efficient and safe operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial maintenance, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and make necessary repairs.
- Assist with the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment.
- Maintain and repair electrical panels, lighting, and infrastructure.
- Inspect equipment for potential issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory.
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines, including lockout/tagout protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in training new maintenance team members.
Key Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical systems.
- At least 2 years of experience in maintenance, preferably in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Experience working with automatic presses.
- Strong mechanical skills and troubleshooting experience.
- Basic electrical knowledge, including wiring, PLCs, and control systems.
- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
Skills
- Basic computer skills for data entry and tracking.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with quality control standards and inspection procedures.
- Forklift certification or experience with material handling equipment.
- Experience in automotive or aerospace manufacturing industries is a plus.
