Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a dedicated Shift Lead to guide daily restaurant operations at your home location. You’ll oversee opening and closing shifts, mentor teammates, and ensure food safety, service quality, and clean facilities.

As a leader, you’ll coach new hires, manage goals for food and labor costs, and foster a positive, collaborative work culture while delivering great guest experiences and consistent performance.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience.
• Availability to work overnights, weekends, holidays, variable hours, and maintain dependable attendance.
• ServSafe Food Certification (or willingness to obtain and pass the exam during training).

Responsibilities

• Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
• Coach, train, and motivate Family Members — helping new hires rise quickly and seasoned team members excel.
• Support goals related to food cost, labor cost, sales performance, and basic inventory processes.
• Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements.
• Foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and a positive work culture.
• Prepare, lead, and transition shift operations to keep the restaurant running efficiently.
