Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Shift Leader in Lubbock, TX to drive shift management, coach team members, and uphold safety and quality standards. This role centers on leading daily operations, managing staffing and training, and delivering consistent customer service.

You will help control costs, maintain schedules, and foster a positive work environment while supporting ongoing development opportunities within the Whataburger organization.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience.
• Open availability, including overnights, weekends, holidays, and variable hours.
• Stand up to 10 hours, lift up to 55 lbs, and meet physical demands.
• Experience coaching or leading teams; strong customer service and multitasking skills.
• ServSafe Food Certification (or ability to obtain during training).

Responsibilities

• Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
• Coach, train, and motivate Family Members to improve performance.
• Support goals related to food cost, labor cost, and sales performance.
• Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements.
• Foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and a positive work culture.
• Prepare, lead, and transition shift operations to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
