Job summary

Tommy’s Express Car Wash in Wilmington, NC is hiring a Shift Leader to support daily operations, help train team members, and deliver exceptional customer service. This entry-level leadership role sets the stage for future advancement, including roles like Assistant Site Leader and Site Leader.

As a Shift Leader, you will assist with staffing, lead team meetings, handle guest concerns, perform on-site safety checks, and learn basic equipment troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Experience and leadership: 1+ years in a leadership or supervisory role (retail, hospitality, car wash industry preferred).
• Leadership Potential: Ability to train, coach, and develop employees for operational success.
• Customer Service Excellence: Strong guest interaction skills with a proactive approach to resolving concerns.
• Operations & Maintenance: Willingness to learn equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, and compliance procedures.
• Team Player: Able to work closely with Site Leader and Assistant Site Leader to execute policies and improve efficiency.
• Problem-Solving: Quick thinker who can adapt to challenges and resolve issues efficiently.
• Physical Requirements: Stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs., outdoor environment.
• Flexible Schedule: Available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Team Development – Lead team meetings, assist in training sessions, and help ensure adherence to processes and procedures.
• Customer Service Excellence – Handle customer concerns, manage damage claims, and ensure guests have a top-tier experience.
• Site Maintenance & Compliance – Help conduct weekly site audits, maintain clean and safe work areas, and comply with safety regulations.
• Technical & Mechanical Support – Learn to diagnose minor equipment issues and assist with troubleshooting and repairs.

• Comfortable working with moving mechanical parts, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and ladder safety.
• All necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) provided.
