Valley Subs of Arizona, LLC DBA Jersey Mike's Subs in Tempe, AZ is seeking energetic Shift Manager to lead the team and deliver the customer experience that makes Jersey Mike's a Sub Above.

As on-site leader you’ll own the shift, supervise food safety, speed, and accuracy, coach crew, and uphold cleanliness and standards. If you’re 18+, reliable, and flexible, join us and grow with an award-winning team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Deliver “Sub Above” Service: lead the team and ensure guests leave happier than when they arrived.
• Own the Shift: manage details from start to finish, oversee food safety, speed, and accuracy, cash handling, shift checklists.
• Keep it Spotless: maintain store presentation and uniform standards.
• Coach the Team: train and develop crew to deliver Sub Above experience.
• Set the Standard: ensure operations follow guidelines and policies.

What You’ll Do as a Shift Manager

• Deliver “Sub Above” Service: You’ll bring main character energy to lead the team and wow the guest. Be quick with a friendly welcome, great at banter, and take pride in making sure every person who walks in leaves happier than when they arrived.
• Own the Shift: You handle the details from start to finish. You’re on top of food safety, speed, and accuracy on the line, but you’re also trusted with the behind-the-scenes work—keeping cash secure and making sure all the shift checklists are complete.
• Keep it Spotless: You own the presentation of the store. You set the standard for a spotless environment and fresh uniforms, making sure you and your team always show up ready to impress.
• Coach the Team: You love seeing your team succeed. You’ll support and train the crew, making sure everyone has the skills and confidence to deliver a true "Sub Above" experience.
• Set the Standard: You keep operations running smoothly by making sure the whole crew understands and follows our company guidelines and operational policies.

Physical Requirements

• Standing for extended periods
• Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching
• Ability to lift 10 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Repetitive motion when operating slicer

Other Related Requirements

• Must be able to get reliably to work
• Must be able to obtain ServSafe certification
