Job summary

BURGER KING is seeking a proactive Shift Leader to manage daily shift operations, coach Team Members, and ensure exceptional guest service. You will drive efficiency, uphold brand standards, and lead by example in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

This full-time on-site role requires flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities for growth through mentorship programs and internal leadership trajectories at BURGER KING.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lead a shift and supervise Team Members
• Strong guest-service orientation and problem-solving
• Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks during peak hours
• Excellent communication with staff, peers, and supervisors
• Willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Demonstrated reliability and consistency in past roles
• Experience in quick-service or hospitality is a plus

Responsibilities

• Oversee shift operations and direct Team Members to complete checklists and tasks.
• Ensure fast, friendly service and maintain clean work areas and dining spaces.
• Coach and provide feedback to Team Members to improve performance.
• Model performance standards and brand compliance during shift.
• Coordinate with inventory and cash control procedures.
• Fill in duties of Team Members when needed and support the shift plan.

The Shift Leader role is more than just a job... it's an opportunity. Shift Leaders (SL) are the Aces among all team members and are responsible for shift management; running shift operations as well as overseeing team member efforts and activities in order to achieve desired goals. Shift Leads ensure operational excellence throughout the restaurant by directing Team Members to perform their checklists and other tasks at ever-increasing levels of proficiency and efficiency. They also guarantee that every team member is demonstrating Remarkable Experiences all day, every day. Shift Leads create the daily setup sheet, define team member placement, and ensure all team members are completing assigned responsibilities per the positional checklists. Leads are responsible for ensuring an exceptionally smooth, highly efficient shift.

Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Profitability

• Follows all cash control and security procedures (e.g. safe counting, cash drawers)
• Maintains inventory by performing Daily and Weekly inventory inspections
• Receives inventory truck orders

Guest

• Motivates and directs Team Members to exceed guest expectations with accurate, fast, and friendly service in clean surroundings

People

• Provides coaching and feedback to Team Members to increase the restaurant team's capabilities and raise restaurant performance

Operations

• Sets an example for Team Members by working hard to implement shift plan and drive operational results
• Directs efficient and accurate preparation and sale of products for prompt delivery within established speed of service guidelines
• Motivates Team Members during shift on each of the workstations
• Reviews restaurant results to identify successes and areas for improvement
• Ensures that restaurant upholds operational and brand standards
• Performs duties of the Team Member when necessary

Qualifications and Skills

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• High School Diploma or GED required, 2 years of college preferred
• 1-2 years of previous quick service restaurant experience
• Demonstrated understanding of guest service principles
• Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays
• Ability to work long and/or irregular shifts as needed, for proper functioning of the restaurant
• Be of strong values, ethics, & integrity
• Previous leadership experience with solid employment longevity
• Proven excellence in carrying out duties and responsibilities
• Driven, results oriented, and highly knowledgeable of operations strategies
