Job summary

BURGER KING is seeking a Shift Leader to guide daily operations, supervise Team Members, and ensure top-tier guest experiences. You will set up shift plans, allocate tasks, and drive performance across all stations to uphold speed and accuracy.

The role requires 1–2 years of quick service experience, reliability, and a strong work ethic. Excellent communication and integrity are essential as you help mentor staff and maintain brand standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED required; 2 years of college preferred.
• 1-2 years of quick service restaurant experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of guest service principles.
• Available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Able to work long or irregular shifts as needed for proper functioning of the restaurant.
• Be of strong values, ethics, & integrity.
• Previous leadership experience with solid employment longevity.
• Driven, results oriented, and highly knowledgeable of operations strategies.

Responsibilities

• Follows cash control and security procedures (e.g. safe counting, cash drawers) and maintains inventory.
• Receives inventory orders and performs daily and weekly inspections.
• Motivates and directs Team Members to exceed guest expectations with fast, friendly service in clean surroundings.
• Provides coaching and feedback to Team Members to raise restaurant performance.
• Directs shift plan execution and drives operational results; ensures timely preparation and sale of products within speed guidelines.
• Supervises and supports team members across workstations and reviews restaurant results to identify improvements.
• Upholds brand standards and performs Team Member duties when necessary.

Shift Leaders (SL) are the Aces among all team members and are responsible for shift management; running shift operations as well as overseeing team member efforts and activities in order to achieve desired goals. Shift Leads ensure operational excellence throughout the restaurant by directing Team Members to perform their checklists and other tasks at ever-increasing levels of proficiency and efficiency. They also guarantee that every team member is demonstrating Remarkable Experiences all day, every day. Shift Leads create the daily setup sheet, define team member placement, and ensure all team members are completing assigned responsibilities per the positional checklists. Leads are responsible for ensuring an exceptionally smooth, highly efficient shift.

**Summary of Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

*Profitability*

• Follows all cash control and security procedures (e.g. safe counting, cash drawers)

• Motivates and directs Team Members to exceed guest expectations with accurate, fast, and friendly service in clean surroundings

• Provides coaching and feedback to Team Members to increase the restaurant team's capabilities and raise restaurant performance

*Operations*

• Sets an example for Team Members by working hard to implement shift plan and drive operational results
• Directs efficient and accurate preparation and sale of products for prompt delivery within established speed of service guidelines
• Motivates Team Members during shift on each of the workstations
• Reviews restaurant results to identify successes and areas for improvement
• Ensures that restaurant upholds operational and brand standards
• *Performs duties of the Team Member when necessary
