Charcuterie Artisans in Mapleville, Rhode Island is seeking a Shift Lead to supervise production on Saturdays (2:45pm–11:30pm) and ensure safety, quality, and efficiency. Reports to Production Supervisor; leads training, follows USDA food safety practices, and coordinates with maintenance.
Duties include guiding staff, monitoring production, notifying supervisors of defects, training new workers, maintaining equipment, and upholding lean processes.
Schedule: 2:45pm-11:30 pm, Saturdays as needed.
The Shift Leader reports directly to the Production Supervisor and is responsible for leading production operations during a shift. This includes leading and training the staff, following production processes, and coordinating maintenance and upkeep of equipment with the maintenance team. The Shift Lead must follow best practices of operating in a USDA facility and lead efforts to continuously improve processes in a lean environment. The Shift Lead works closely with the Production Supervisor to ensure that productivity targets are met, and downtime events are kept to a minimum.
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and products up to 25 pounds. Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment, including eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted. Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
$21.80 – $21.80 an hour. Pay includes 2nd shift pay differential.
