Shift Leader Responsibilities

  • Report to the Restaurant General Manager; champion better burgers
  • Manage performance of FOH & BOH employees
  • Promote a fun, positive work environment
  • Manage processes and systems effectively
  • Provide training using SmashConnect, LMS, and the 4-step training method
  • Reward and recognize employee performance exceeding standards
  • Complete operational checklists daily, including line checks, uniform standards, opening/closing checklists, safe and deposit logs
  • Manage guest experience metrics (NPS and OSAT)
  • Ensure food safety standards and compliance with health regulations
  • Exemplify guest service standards and communicate them to staff
  • Oversee onboarding and training of new employees
  • Follow COGS procedures for food ordering and inventory
  • Adhere to cash policies to minimize theft and shortages
  • Manage daily labor effectively

Shift Leader Requirements

  • Previous shift leadership experience
  • Completion of the 90-day train-the-trainer course
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Adhere to uniform standards
  • Follow all company, local, state, and federal employment regulations
  • Complete Smashburger training program successfully
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • People management skills to lead and develop team members
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in high temperatures
