Job description

Job title: Shift Leader

The Shift Leader is responsible for the profitability and overall operation of the restaurant as a complement to the manager in charge and also in their absence. A majority of the time will be spent leading the team to meet a high guest experience along with training and coaching new and existing employees.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  1. Operations Excellence for Guest Satisfaction
  2. Holds the guest as their highest priority and role models exceptional guest service
  3. Acknowledges all guests with a friendly smile and is highly responsive to needs and special requests
  4. Empowers the team to satisfy guests and resolve problems
  5. Communicates clearly with each guest in a friendly and courteous way
  6. Ensures all orders are completed and packaged accurately and within Dunkin’ Donuts speed of service standards
  7. Monitors and adjusts the products in the back case according to Dunkin’ Donuts merchandising and product appearance standards
  8. Consistently serves quality food and beverages to each guest
  9. Educates on the Guest Satisfaction Survey program and ensures receipts are issued with each order
  10. Ensures service with speed is met throughout each shift at Drive Thru and Front Counter
  11. Executes team service through effective deployment and communication
  12. Ensures the restaurant meets food safety, sanitation and cleanliness standards during shift
  13. Assists with equipment maintenance and calibration
  14. Performs travel paths interacting with guests and taking appropriate action as needed
  15. Utilizes Red Book or similar tool to track required documentation
  16. Guards the safety and security of the crew members and guests by proactively identifying and addressing opportunities

Profitability

  1. Drives sales through execution of product promotions including sampling and ensuring crew can properly describe and prepare all promotional products
  2. Provides feedback, information and suggestions to Restaurant Manager
  3. Communicates shift goals and results to team
  4. Ensures the shift is properly staffed and the team is properly deployed to meet standards and goals
  5. Manages cash over/short during shift through accurate counting and cashier assignment
  6. Manages food cost during shift through accurate tracking and minimizing waste, following prep plans, and completing daily inventory as assigned
  7. Manages labor cost during shift through proper delegation, balancing guest focus with task assignment
  8. Reports all equipment and facility issues to Restaurant Manager
  9. Ensures processes and policies are followed on their shift

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Fluent in English
  2. Restaurant, retail, or supervisory experience
  3. Basic computer skills
  4. At least 18 years of age (where applicable)
  5. Basic writing skills
  6. High School diploma, or equivalent
  7. Basic math skill and financial acumen
  8. Must have open availability to work all shifts
  9. Capable of standing for 6+ hours and lifting up to 30lbs
