Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) preferred.
  • Must be 18+ to operate slicer and have Serve Safe Food Handler Certification.

A Shift Leader supports the management team in running the restaurant. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coaching staff to deliver excellent customer service
  • Producing high-quality food
  • Delivering the Jersey Mike's experience
  • Cash handling
  • Following the Learning Management System Training Program
  • Developing team members for career growth
  • Enforcing policies and procedures
  • Participating in marketing initiatives
  • Building sales
  • Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation
  • Being certified in all four restaurant positions
  • Effective communication
  • Sense of urgency

Expectations for a Shift Leader include:

  • Moving or transporting up to 50 lbs without assistance, unless covered by ADA or a medical note
  • Working 38-40 hours per week
  • Reliable transportation to work
  • Communicating issues to management
  • Leading by example in food quality, customer interaction, and appearance

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Create food consistent with Jersey Mike's standards
  • Maintain a clean restaurant environment
  • Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented atmosphere
  • Multitask effectively with a sense of urgency
  • Provide exceptional customer experiences
  • Understand accountability and integrity
  • Key Holder duties
  • Perform opening and closing tasks
  • Bake bread and perform prep work
  • Manage and lead a crew of 2-5 people
  • Proficient in slicing

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred 1 year QSR experience
  • Must be 18+ to operate slicer
  • Serve Safe Food Handler Certification
  • Reliable transportation
