Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is seeking a Shift Leader for our Upper West Side store at 405 Amsterdam Avenue, New York NY 10024. You will captain the night shift, oversee operations, and lead a friendly cookie crew while delivering exceptional customer service and delicious cookies.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of customer service experience is required
• Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems
• Strong communication and time-management skills
• Outgoing, friendly, patient demeanor
• Detail-focused with a results-oriented mindset
• Ability to lead by example and motivate others
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for long periods

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and quality products to guests throughout their bakery experience
• Support store leadership by maintaining operations during your shift and communicating important information
• Monitor production efficiency and ensure adherence to standards and procedures; train and coach team members
• Prioritize and delegate tasks for baking, cashiering, packaging, and cleaning while leading the cookie crew
• Collaborate with and support the Cookie Crew to ensure smooth operations
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow safe food handling practices
• Manage cash handling and deposits; perform other duties as assigned

As a Shift Leader at our Upper West Side store located at 405 Amsterdam Avenue, New York NY 10024, you are the captain of our bakery day or night! WHAT WILL I DO AS A SHIFT LEADER

• Provide incredible customer service and quality products to all of our guests throughout their experience within our bakeries
• Support store leadership by maintaining operations during your shift, communicating pertinent information, monitoring production efficiency, holding the team accountable to company standards and procedures, and assisting in the training and coaching of team members
• Prioritize and delegate tasks for baking, cashiering, packaging, and cleaning while leading the cookie crew team
• Support and work alongside the Cookie Crew
• Provide a safe, clean, working environment for our guests and staff and adhere to safe food handling practices
• Manage cash handling and deposits
• Other duties as assigned

DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• At least 1 year of working experience in a customer service focused role
• Point of Sales systems experience
• Outstanding communication, time management, and people skills
• Outgoing/friendly/patient
• Detail focused and results‑oriented
• Ability to lead-by-example and motivate others
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Must be 18 years or older to be employed
