Job summary

Marcus Theatres in Allentown seeks a Shift Lead to support theatre management, guide staff, and ensure daily goals are met. You will be the first contact for guest concerns and help uphold guest service excellence.

You will coach and train associates, enforce policies, and assist with seat repairs, inventory, and financial planning while maintaining high service standards in a fast-paced cinema environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Willing and motivated to learn new skills, tasks, and software systems.
  • Six months minimum experience in theatre industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead pre-shift meetings to share goals and expectations.
  • Reposition staff during peak periods per show schedules.
  • Process voids, refunds, seating swaps, and loyalty points.
  • Reboot terminals to ensure scanning works 100%.
  • Be the first point of contact for guest concerns.
  • Help maintain daily operations to meet Best In Class standards.
  • Assist with seat repair, training, inventory, and planning.
  • Support additional duties as assigned by management.

Description
Broad Description of Duties:

Under the direction of the theatre management team, the Shift Lead is responsible for providing support to management as it relates to theatre efficiencies, staff communication and meeting daily goals. A shift lead may serve as a first point of contact for guest concerns and assist with other associate related task such as: coaching, training, and policy enforcement. This position will help ensure an exceptional guest service experience.

This position reports to the General Manager (reporting may vary by location).

Essential Functions/Job Duties:
  • Communicate to associates goals and objectives by conducting pre-shift meetings;
  • Assist management by repositioning team members in areas of need during peak periods and according to show schedules;
  • Process voids, refunds, reserve seating swaps, and issuing loyalty points for guest service reasons;
  • Reboot terminals to ensure scanning is 100% operational;
  • Be the first point contact for guest concerns;
  • Help maintain the quality of daily operations by meeting the "Best In Class" benchmarks, (Smile, Product Quality, Speed of Service, Clean Environment, Promote Value Offerings, Entertainment and Thanking the Guests);
  • Assist with projects which include: seat repair, training, inventory, and financial goal planning/execution;
  • Assist in other duties as assigned by the management team

Job Requirements:

  • Six (6) months minimum experience in theatre industry
Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, and/or walk occasionally. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Work is performed in an office and theatre environment. The noise level is usually moderate to high with an occasional loud environment. Wearing a face mask is required during scheduled working hours. Education Required:
  • No minimum education required; however, high school diploma or equivalency is preferred
