Blank Street in Philadelphia is seeking a Shift Lead to guide a fast-paced team and deliver exceptional service. You will oversee shift operations, coach staff, and uphold product quality, safety, and hospitality standards while building a positive team culture.

You’ll be an integral part of a growing brand, with opportunities for career advancement, comprehensive training, and a dynamic, customer-focused environment. Must be 18+, able to lift 25+ lbs, and pass work authorization in the US.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in a customer service leadership position, preferably in hospitality or coffee.
• 18+ years of age.
• Able to lift 25+ lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift with clarity and confidence directing, coaching, and supporting the team while owning the floor.
• Train new team members alongside your General Manager and the Training Team.
• Continue to train others to ensure standards across product quality, safety, and hospitality.
• Delight our customers with consistent, welcoming and engaging hospitality, turning customers into regulars.
• Handle customer or team issues in a calm, positive, solutions-oriented way.
• Maintain a clean and organized environment upholding health and Blank Street standards.
• Partner with Operations and Marketing teams for events and promotions to expand our brand to new customers.
• Set your team up for success by mastering cash handling, inventory, waste tracking, and opening/closing processes.

What You'll Own

• Step in to handle customer or team issues in a calm, positive, and solutions-oriented way
• Maintain a clean and organized environment upholding both Local Department of Health and Blank Street standards at all times
• Be an integral part of our world class team using the best equipment, coffee, and matcha in the industry
• Partner with our Operations and Marketing teams for events and promotions to expand our brand to new customers
• Set your team up for success by mastering different company procedures such as cash handling, inventory, waste tracking, and opening and closing processes.

Requirements

• 2+ years’ experience in a customer service leadership position, preferably in hospitality or coffee
• 18+ years of age
• Able to lift 25+ lbs, and to stand for long periods of time
• Availability that meets the needs of our cafes
  • Full Time: 30-40 hours per week, 4-5 days per week and must be able to work 2 peak days (peak days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
  • Weekend and holiday availability preferred
• You must be authorized to work in the US: upon acceptance of a job offer and completion of the Form I-9 with acceptable documents, Blank Street will provide the federal government with employees’ Form I-9 information to confirm authorization to work in the U.S. (a process known as ”E-Verify”
• $19.50 per hour + tips
