Qualifications

• Must be able to regularly lift at least 50 lbs.
• Proficiency with technology/computer systems (e.g., Excel, attendance and ordering systems).
• Excellent communication, problem solving, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage bakery operations independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Prolonged standing, stooping, and walking.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all operations are consistently maintained to a high standard with or without a manager present.
• Remain calm in stressful situations to ensure smooth operations while assisting team members.
• Communicate clearly with team members and manager to ensure smooth transitions.
• Create a positive team environment by addressing changes or difficulties team members may face.
• Assist team members to solve problems and increase efficiency in performance.
• Execute opening and closing duties and general bakery operations with punctuality and attendance.
• Ensure all orders and inventory are received and organized accordingly.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation procedures and ensure team compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About the Role:

In this role, the Shift Lead will contribute to our company's success by assisting the manager in executing and maintaining operations at our cafe establishment. They are responsible for delegating tasks, maintaining a safe and clean environment for our team members, and ensuring all operations run smoothly when the manager is not present.

This position regularly demands 25-30 hours per week. Work hours vary depending on orders placed but can be discussed.

Job Responsibilities:

In the Shift Lead role, you will have an opportunity to serve our team by:

• Ensuring that all operations are consistently maintained to a high standard with or without a manager present
• Remaining calm in stressful or unexpected situations to ensure smooth operations while assisting team members adapting to the circumstances.
• Communicating clearly and effectively with team members and manager to ensure smooth transitions and prevent miscommunication
• Creating a positive team environment by paying attention to changes or difficulties team members may be experiencing
• Assisting team members to solve problems and increase efficiency in their performance
• Executing closing duties, opening duties, and general bakery operations and is consistent with punctuality and attendance on scheduled shifts
• Ensuring all orders and inventory are received and organized accordingly
• Following all health, safety, and sanitation procedures and ensure all team members are following those procedures
• Performing other duties as assigned
