Job summary

Navy Region Southwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) is seeking a Facility Operations Assistant (Duty Manager) at Naval Air Station North Island, Coronado. The role oversees daily operations, supervises staff, and ensures adherence to MWR policies while maintaining facility security and safety.

The position requires strong customer relations, knowledge of recreation operations, and the ability to manage cash, logs, and staff assignments.

Qualifications

• Must have strong public and customer relations.
• Knowledge of recreation activity operation and regulations.
• Able to communicate effectively and diplomatically with superiors, peers, subordinates and customers.
• Capable of handling monies and completing MWR Cash Handling Training within 30 days of employment.
• Able to use PC computers and knowledge of various software programs.
• Able to account for materials, equipment and money placed in care.

Responsibilities

• Review shift function schedules; arrange staff to meet facility needs.
• Monitor facility operations; enforce rules and safety; communicate with patrons.
• Manage change funds and cash records; ensure proper clocking and cash handling.
• Perform pre-close checks; secure premises and alarm systems.
• Perform first-level supervisory duties; support Equal Employment Opportunity expectations; supervise staff.
• Assist with special events as needed.
