Job summary

Pet Supplies Plus, operated by MPM Retail Holdings, is hiring a Shift Supervisor in Rock Hill, SC. This entry-level leadership role supports store management and leads the team during assigned shifts, serving as Manager on Duty when needed.

You will help ensure neighbor service, animal care, safety, and operational execution, train new staff, and handle opening/closing, cash handling, and back-office tasks. Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or customer service experience preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Ability to provide direction and make appropriate decisions while serving as Manager on Duty.
• Dependable with reliable transportation.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
• Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely operate required store equipment after completing appropriate training.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Manager on Duty when assigned and provide direction to team members throughout the shift.
• Lead by example and reinforce expectations for neighbor service, teamwork, productivity, and professionalism.
• Assign daily tasks, follow up on completion, and provide real-time coaching and feedback.
• Assist with training and onboarding team members.
• Resolve routine neighbor concerns and escalating significant issues when appropriate.
• Execute opening and closing procedures, cash handling, deposits, and assigned back-office responsibilities.
• Support daily stocking and down stocking, truck processing, merchandising, price changes, inventory accuracy, and store recovery.
• Maintain standards for cleanliness, animal care, safety, security, and overall store conditions.
• Communicate team, operational, or safety concerns to store management.
• Perform nail trims and other approved services when trained and required.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on the needs of the business.
