Job summary

PopUp Bagels in New York is seeking a Shift Supervisor (Bagel Sous) to lead daily shifts, coach team members, and ensure culinary and hospitality standards are met. This hands-on leadership role partners with restaurant leadership to drive operational excellence, maintain food quality, and create exceptional guest experiences.

You will develop staff across stations, manage opening and closing routines, handle cash and inventory, and help sustain a positive, accountable culture focused on quality

Qualifications

• 1+ years of leadership experience in a restaurant, café, bakery, or hospitality environment.
• Passion for food, hospitality, and team development.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily shift operations and support overall shop performance.
• Coach, train, and develop team members across multiple stations.
• Ensure food quality, presentation, accuracy, and hospitality standards are consistently met.
• Support shift deployment, task management, and break compliance.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and daily operational routines.
• Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily goals, priorities, and updates.
• Monitor food preparation, inventory levels, prep production, and waste management.
• Partner with leadership to maintain labor efficiency and operational excellence.
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and create positive customer experiences.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, and Department of Health standards.
• Support a positive, team-focused culture while driving accountability and results.
