Job summary

Five Guys is seeking a Shift Leader in Vernon Hills, IL to drive daily operations and guest satisfaction. You’ll lead by example, work alongside the team across all roles, and ensure fast, accurate service while maintaining brand standards.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience (leadership preferred)
• A team-first mindset with strong communication skills
• Leads by doing—not just directing
• Ability to stay cool and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math and comfort using POS systems

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and step in to run operations when management isn’t on site
• Jump into every position—cashier, grill, prep, fries, dining room
• Deliver fast, accurate service and create a great guest experience every time
• Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best
• Help train new team members and build a strong, positive culture
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and up to brand standards
• Manage shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports
