Job summary

Flynn Group is seeking a Shift Lead for Planet Fitness in a vibrant Florida facility. Reporting to the General Manager, you will supervise fellow coworkers, manage shift tasks, and uphold high performance and safety standards in a busy fitness environment.

Responsibilities include scheduling, attendance monitoring, task assignment, and handling customer issues. The role requires strong leadership, attendance to safety policies, and the ability to maintain a high-energy Judgement Free Zone.

Reporting to General Manager, the Shift Lead supervises fellow coworkers while they work, monitoring their performance, ensuring they comply with company and safety policies and delegating tasks appropriately. Shift Leaders are responsible for maintaining an organization’s high performance, quality and safety standards and guaranteeing satisfaction. A Shift Leader performs leadership, management, and organization tasks to ensure team members work efficiently and effectively during their shift.This position plays a critical role in managing our team dynamic in an effort to maintain a high-energy atmosphere inside the Judgement Free Zone®.

Skills Required

• Customer Service: Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills by interacting with customers, including coworkers and the public, in a manner that consistently exceeds expectations and addresses their needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Organizing shift schedules for team members.
• Monitoring attendance, tardiness, and time off.
• Assigning duties to specific employees based on role and skills.
• Supervising employees and assisting with tasks as necessary.
• Supervise performance and sharing feedback with both upper management and team members.
• Training new and current team members on tasks.
• Handling customer issues and managing conflicts.
• Adhering to company policies and health, safety and employment standards.
• Upholding integrity and security with member documents and sensitive information always.
• Managing club cleanliness and maintenance to ensure all aspects of the club are in like new condition.
• Execute retail transactions with accuracy and drive sales goals in compliance with our PCI policy.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts
• Frequent walking throughout the facility
• Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 75 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Reaching, bending, and kneeling as needed for stocking and cleaning tasks
• Ability to work in a busy, noisy fitness environment
• Will occasionally use or be around standard cleaning products; appropriate safety procedures and protective equipment are provided
