Job summary

Burgermaster in Bellevue, WA is seeking a Shift Lead to support restaurant operations, ensure quality food and service, and help manage a fast-paced drive-in and dine-in environment.

You will supervise frontline staff, coordinate kitchen stations, uphold Burgermaster standards, and participate in trainings. Previous restaurant and supervisory experience are preferred; a Food Handler permit and ServeSafe certification within timelines are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous restaurant experience required.

• Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling.
• Food handlers permit required within 7 days of hire.
• ServeSafe certifications required within 1 year of hire to Supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Oversee restaurant operations with focus on quality food and service.
• Enforce Burgermaster policies and standard operating procedures.
• Run the line and ensure breaks and meals are scheduled.
• Assist with food cost by reducing waste and prioritizing tasks.
• Assist with labor cost by managing staffing levels during shifts.
• Assist with prep work and cleaning including checklists.
• Report attitude, behavior, and attendance issues per incident process.
• Coordinate station assignments for team members during shifts.
• Act as communication hub for kitchen operations.

Role and Responsibilities

• Assists manager to oversee restaurant operations by focusing on quality food and service
• Enforcing policies and ensuring employees are working the “Burgermaster way” as defined by Managers and Corporate
• Responsible for running the line and employees get their required breaks and mealtimes
• Assist with food costs by reducing or eliminating waste and knowing when to place other business priorities above food cost
• Assist with labor cost by ensuring employees on the clock are working, and ensuring the proper amount of employees are working
• Assist with prep work and cleaning, including checklists
• Reports issues of attitude, behavior, and attendance, ensuring situations are recorded following the incident reporting process and/or brought to Manager’s attention
• Coordinate which station each team member is assigned to for the shift
• Act as center of communication for the kitchen
• Attends Supervisor trainings as required
• Supervisor may be scheduled specific stations and/or jobs , but is expected to switch stations and/or jobs as needed to support the team
• Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent time management skills.

• Knowledge of all stations in the kitchen
• Demonstrate leadership skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to read English and comprehend simple instructions
• Familiarity with food handling, safety, and other restaurant guidelines.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous restaurant experience required
• Previous Supervisory experience preferred

Work Environment

• Prolonged periods standing, walking, and working around kitchen equipment
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
• Must be comfortable working long hours, including nights and weekends.
• Noise level is usually moderate
