Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• 3+ years of semiconductor manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience with metrology, process and equipment engineering functions.
• Experience with SPC, data analysis, and structured problem solving.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day engineering support for thin film tools and processes during evening operations.
• Mentor and train technicians and junior engineers in troubleshooting methodologies.
• Provide rapid technical response to excursions, tool alarms, quality events, and production issues.
• Partner with supervisors and technicians to maintain stable operations.
• Develop and maintain process control strategies, monitoring plans, and escalation procedures.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation, procedures, specs, and training materials.

Job Description

onsemi is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Diffusion Module Engineer to join our manufacturing team in Hopewell Junction, NY. This position will serve as a key technical resource supporting metrology systems and manufacturing operations during evening production hours. The successful candidate will partner closely with Operations, Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to rapidly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues impacting production performance. This role will focus on driving equipment performance, process stability, defect reduction, productivity improvements, and continuous operational excellence.

Shift Structure

The Diffusion organization utilizes a dedicated evening engineering model to provide direct support to manufacturing operations during critical production hours.

• Shift A: Sunday – Wednesday, 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Shift B: Wednesday- Saturday, 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM
• Dedicated overlap every Wednesday for project reviews, prioritization, communication, and shift handoff activities.
• Engineering coverage every evening and on weekends.

Experience

• 3+ years of semiconductor manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience supporting metrology, process engineering, equipment engineering, yield engineering, or manufacturing engineering functions.
• Experience with statistical process control (SPC), data analysis, and structured problem solving.
• Experience working in a high-volume manufacturing environment preferred.

onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is$114,000 - $193,700 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of the internal equity of our current team members.
