Job summary

onsemi in Hopewell Junction, NY is seeking an Equipment Technician to maintain and troubleshoot critical environmental and process systems on a 300 mm semiconductor manufacturing site in East Fishkill.

You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to alarms, review SPC charts, and collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance and Manufacturing across shifts; weekend coverage may be required. A technical degree or 3+ years experience is expected and a sign-on bonus is offered.

Qualifications

• Technical/Associate's Degree or 3+ years experience in science, engineering or semiconductor manufacturing.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds and stand for much of an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on semiconductor equipment and building systems.
• Respond to alarms and troubleshoot process and tool interruptions.
• Review SPC charts and react to out-of-spec conditions; perform root cause analysis.
• Operate reliability-centered maintenance for environmental and mechanical systems.
• Document system status and shift logs; communicate across all shifts.
• Use LEAN tools to support continuous improvement and cost reduction.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance and Manufacturing teams.
• Follow safety procedures for chemical handling and work in varied environments.

Job Description

onsemi is seeking an Equipment Technician to work on-site in East Fishkill, New York, looking for skilled Technicians to work in the facilities organization.Tasks will include but are not limited to the continuous operation and maintenance of the following systems: Air Handlers, Exhaust Systems, Environmental, JCW Cooling Systems, DI / UPW Water Systems, Pumps / Fans / Motors and other equipment and systems that support manufacturing.This technician will be responsible for proper system operation, preventive and corrective maintenance tasks and schedules, and responding to and troubleshooting system alarms and controls.Primary work activities will be related to system and equipment maintenance, with some tasks related to control system programming and alarm response.Technicians must be able to work in a team environment with a focus on customer satisfaction.Strong communication skills and schedule flexibility are important as weekend coverage may be required.

Day 2: 6:30 AM-7:00 PM Thursday, Friday, Saturday, every other Wednesday

Responsibilities

• Position is for N2 AWS schedule. Overtime may be required at times, and emergency call-ins are a possibility.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities and visual inspection tours, documenting performance metrics on state-of-the-art 300 mm semiconductor equipment.
• React to error messages on building and site systems and/or equipment, recover from process and tool interruptions.
• Review Statistical Process Control charts for process quality and react to Out of Spec conditions, including defect troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• The ability to operate and provide Reliability Centered Maintenance to a wide variety of environmental systems and equipment.
• The ability to operate and provide Reliability Centered Maintenance to a wide variety of mechanical and environmental systems and equipment.
• The ability to recognize and respond to system and equipment malfunctions on a solo basis.
• Utilize computers to document and communicate system status for all site operation systems, including shift logs, to collaborate across all shifts.
• Familiarity with and utilization of LEAN tools to ensure continuous improvement,utilization, and cost reduction.
• Interact with customers such as Engineering, Maintenance, and Manufacturing.
• Work in noisy areas, and the ability to handle chemicals / chemical handling equipment safely is required. Working outside in all seasons, part of the time.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.Strong team member, able to work well with a global team, new team members as needed based on assignment, while able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously in an effective manner.
• Able to operate computer and system interface programs to ensure appropriate computing and analysis of statistical data:
• Able to follow detailed instructions and procedures, read facilities building and sub-system prints to complete tasks and required documentation.
• Effectively demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring a high level of attention to detail and timeliness.
• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner, supporting all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Technical/Associate's Degree in Science, Engineering, Semiconductor Manufacturing, or a related discipline, Military Equivalent, or 3+ years of experience.
• Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift (preventive maintenance) and/or process issues, ability to perform maintenance activities, and work in the standing position for the majority of an 8-hour shift (excluding breaks).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Semiconductor, HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical, and I&C / PLC experience.
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of semiconductor processing, process equipment, and a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with software applications: Microsoft Office Suite.
• Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control methodologies & systems.
• Familiarity with Lean processes & activities.

Employees in this role may be required to participate in the site Emergency Response Brigade and support emergency preparedness activities. Participation includes maintaining required training, certifications, and response readiness in accordance with site policies and business needs.

Hourly: onsemi is excited to share the base salary range for this position is$21.20 to $36.92 exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.The final pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, education, experience, and/or consideration of internal equity of our current team members.
