Job Responsibilities
  1. Compensation (Range): $40 - $45 / hour
  2. Lead a group of employees to develop business processes, manage production operations, and foster teamwork.
  3. Lead technical personnel in problem solving, inspection, quality control, and quality assurance activities.
  4. Administer agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union, ensuring compliance and safety.
  5. Learn new skills and influence manufacturing processes for electric and autonomous vehicles.
  6. Read and react to daily manufacturing plans.
  7. Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  8. Manage change and navigate ambiguity effectively.
  9. Drive accountability through people and processes, including difficult conversations in a unionized environment.
  10. Work effectively with all organizational levels, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  11. Apply analytical skills to solve complex problems.
  12. Physical requirements include walking, standing, reading instructions, operating machinery, and safety compliance, including wearing PPE.
  13. Perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, lifting up to 40 lbs, and working in loud, non-climate-controlled environments.
Job Requirements
  1. At least one year of supervisory experience or 5 months as an internal GM per diem group leader.
  2. Experience in managing performance and leading in a fast-paced environment.
  3. Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills.
  4. Willingness to work weekends and rotating shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP) and Throughput Improvement Process (TIP).
  2. Advanced understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
  3. Experience supervising in a union environment, with Supply Chain or Quality background.
  4. Experience implementing Built-in-Quality initiatives, Red X & DFSS Certification, and Lean Manufacturing.
  5. Knowledge of timekeeping systems.
